48 New Citizens Arrived in Mansfield During June
During the month of June, the stork brought forty-eight new citizens to Mansfield. The births recorded at the Child Health department indicate that twenty-eight boys and twenty girls increased the city’s population.
Majority of the children have been named and enrolled in the health department records as “Johnny Jones” or “Mary Smith” but the few to whom it seems the privilege of chosing [sic] their own names has been given have been recorded as mere “boy” or mere “girl.”
Popular Names
Among those who have been named, “Richard” proves to be the most popular name for boys and “Elizabeth” or “Betty” is the name in vogue for girls.
